Raspberry Pomegranate Icelandic Martini

This holiday, you can enjoy a festive, creamy cocktail with all the nutritional benefits of yogurt!Raspberry Pomegranate Icelandic Martini

I received free samples of Siggi’s yogurt mentioned in this post. By posting this recipe, I am entering a recipe contest sponsored by Siggi’s yogurt and am eligible to win prizes associated with the contest. I was not compensated for my time.

What happens when creamy, dreamy raspberry yogurt and booze get all shook up and poured into a martini glass? Well, that depends on how many you drink.

Just kidding…kind of. But seriously, drink responsibly friends 🙂

Now that the PSA is over, let’s talk about skyr.

Huh?

Skyr [pronounced skeer], originated in Iceland more than 1,000 years ago and is a staple of the Icelandic diet. Made from cow’s milk, skyr has a creamy, thick texture–even thicker than Greek yogurt. siggi’s® yogurt is an Icelandic-style skyr that’s high in protein, low in sugar, and rich in live active cultures to promote digestive tract health. With 9-11 grams sugar per 5.3-ounce cup, Siggi’s® contains at least 25% less sugar than the top 3 leading yogurt brands. In fact, every cup of Siggi’s® contains more protein than sugar!

Have you tried any of the siggi’s® flavors?

As so many people desire to have healthier food and beverage options to choose from, why not try to improve upon what we imbibe? Each serving of this cocktail contains about 5 grams of protein, so it’s more filling than most other cocktails [i.e. you’re less likely to over-consume].

Apparently, yogurt-cocktails aren’t a new thing in the cocktail world as professional bartenders have experimented with yogurt and booze.

Don’t pomegranate seeds look like little jewels? I love them.

The pomegranate liqueur I used was a blend of vodka and tequila and is made with all-natural pomegranate juice. The prosecco lightens up this creamy cocktail just a bit, and because prosecco tends to have more fruit & floral aromas than champagne, it pairs well with the raspberry and pomegranate flavors happening here. Be sure to chill the pomegranate liqueur and prosecco before making this cocktail.

While this is a great beverage to try over the holidays with family and friends, it’s also perfect for a girls’ night or bachelorette party because helllloooo it’s pink! Garnish the glass with a raspberry, and you’ll be feeling extra fancy. Enjoy [responsibly] friends, and be sure to check out all of the Siggi’s® yogurt creations in the gallery below!
