I’m over here in disbelief that Christmas is less than two weeks away. Anyone else feel the same? Maybe you’re ahead of the game and have most of the Christmas shopping done (I’m envious if so) but if not, hopefully this 2017 holiday gift guide for foodies will inspire some ideas! I’ve included some of my favorite kitchen tools, food gifts, and cookbooks for the true food fanatics in your life.
Sunday Suppers: Simple, Delicious Menus for Family Gatherings by Cynthia Graubart
I received a copy of this cookbook last month to review and I’ve found so many recipes to try! Written by James Beard Award-winning author Cynthia Graubart, this cookbook has 52 Southern inspired menus, including an entree, side, and dessert, perfect for family gatherings. Here’s a taste of what’s inside: Tomato & Feta Shrimp, Grilled Jalapeno-Lime Corn on the Cob, Spring Chicken Risotto, Caramel Mocha Sea Salt Cupcakes, and Peach Melba Shortbread Bars. These recipes are sure to bring the family around the table!
Generations of Love & Food by Meme Inge & Sarah Druhan Davis
Written by a fellow dietitian and friend, I’m so excited to share this sweet cookbook that celebrates generations of family recipes. I love that Meme and her grandmother created this cookbook that “balances time-honored recipes to make sure they are as beneficial for your body as they are for your tastebuds”. Grab your copy for the special family member who treasures and collects favorite family recipes!
The Healthy Meal Prep Cookbook by Toby Amidor
Surprise! It’s another cookbook from a Registered Dietitian and this one is excellent for those looking to do more meal prep. Toby breaks down meal prepping in a simple, easy to follow format. Get a sneak peek of a couple of the recipes in the book by checking out the review post I did earlier this year.
My love for loose leaf tea has grown tremendously over the past year once I discovered Tiesta Tea. Truly a game changer for tea sippin’. They have so many interesting tea blends to choose from but a few of my favorite are the Cocoa Chili Pumpkin, the Blueberry Wild Child, and the Fireside Spice.
How about some honey to go along with that tea? I’m a big fan of gifting this Tennessee-made honey any time of year. They have great seasonal honeys, whipped honey, and the best beeswax lip balm! Note: bees are not included with your jar of honey purchase 🙂
For the Kitchen
My food processor comes to the rescue whenever I need to make these Pumpkin Oat Energy Bites and many other slicing, chopping, blending tasks. Want to make homemade nut butters? This is the tool to do it! Need to grate a whole lotta carrots? Grab the food processor! This is truly a great kitchen appliance for those who love to cook.
Lodge Cast Iron
My appreciation and love for cooking in cast iron has grown so much over the past two years since I had the opportunity to tour the Lodge Cast Iron foundry in South Pittsburg, Tennessee. The process of making cast iron is incredible and the people who make Lodge cast iron take so much pride in their work. My go-to Lodge cookware is my 10.25-inch cast iron skillet, my carbon steel pan for making the best salmon, the cast iron wok (total game changer for stir-fry!), and my beautifully purple enamel Dutch oven.
I bought my Misto Oil Sprayer years ago and it’s something I use almost daily. It’s great knowing I’ve saved money on buying cooking sprays and it’s a more environmentally friendly option! I keep mine filled with olive oil but you could also fill it with vinegars or cooking wines. This non-aerosol can is BPA-free.

Around the House
While this is a holiday gift guide focused mostly on food, I couldn’t finish the post without including a couple of my other favorite things from around the house!
Want to make your home smell like heaven? The Caldrea Sea Salt Neroli room spray will do that. Seriously, everyone who has smelled this stuff goes crazy for it. I found it on the Grove Collaborative, a green cleaning and natural products site and while the Sea Salt Neroli scent is currently not available there, they have some amazing seasonal scents! You can also find several other eco-friendly green cleaning products on the Grove Co. for much less than what you’d pay in the store. To save $10 on your first order, click here.
I’m picky about indoor planters so it took me awhile to find just the right one. The RÅGKORN indoor plant pot has been perfect so far–I’m just wishing I had bought two! Indoor plants make me happy 🙂
