Here we are in June already. Holy smokes.
Apologies if you tried visiting the site yesterday and were unable to access it. Technical difficulties but we’re back in business today! Some things may look slightly different but I’m working to get everything back in order 🙂
This week really seemed to fly by! I spent the holiday weekend and first part of the week visiting family in Indiana, which was much needed! There were two family birthdays over the weekend, plus a Memorial Day cookout. Did you host/attend a cookout for Memorial Day?
We took a day trip over to Greenville, OH, where they are famous for their Maid-Rite® sandwiches. Greenville is a cute little town with a thriving one-street downtown area filled with local shops and businesses. They also have a KitchenAid® store where you can see all of the beautiful mixers and learn about this history of the company. Fun fact: every KitchenAid® stand mixer in the world is assembled in Greenville, Ohio!
One of my other favorite stops is Bear’s Mill, a grain mill that has been converted into a shop/art gallery. I love walking through this space and imagining what a typical day was like when the mill was in full operation way back in 1848! They still use some of the equipment today to mill grain that is sold in the shop and you can access all four floors to learn about the mill.
When I got back to Nashville, I had a delivery from Lorissa’s Kitchen waiting for me. Wishing I had these during my road trip! Have you tried these yet? I never used to eat jerky but I’ve become a big fan over the past year, especially since there are more natural, preservative-free options like Lorissa’s Kitchen. There will be a blog post coming soon sharing more about these tasty snacks!
I’m currently wanting all of the fresh summer produce I can get my hands on! This Mediterranean Salad is something I make every year around this time—can’t get enough of it! I also spotted this recipe for Pepper Ricotta Primavera in a Taste of Home magazine while at my grandma’s house this weekend and had to jot down the recipe. Looks so simple but filled with lots of summer veggies. Yes please!
How refreshing does this Wild Blueberry Ginger Mint Green Iced Tea from EA Stewart look? I could really go for a glass or two on these 90 degree days were having in Nashville. Maybe a glass of the tea and one of these Boozy Mango Pineapple Popsicles from Living Well Kitchen would be the balanced way to go? 😉 Speaking of boozy popsicles, have you tried my recipe for Paloma Popsicles yet?
Lastly, I need your help! I’ll be in Charleston, SC on a long layover during an upcoming trip and I’d love to know what I MUST do in the few short hours I’ll be there. It’s in the middle of the week and I’ll be there overnight through the following afternoon. If you have suggestions leave them below in a comment and TIA!
