Raise your hand if you eat breakfast every morning. Now raise your other hand if you know just how important it is to eat breakfast every day. I hope you have both hands in the air! Okay, you can put them down now 🙂
Breakfast is non-negotiable in my opinion. In order to feel energized and ready to take on the day, you need a powerful breakfast. Note, I said powerful, meaning a balanced, nourishing breakfast and not a bowl of super sugary cereal or a handful of candy and a diet soda as you head out the door [yes, some people eat candy and soda for “breakfast”. Yikes]. Your breakfast plate, or bowl, should include a balance of protein, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates, such as whole-grains for the best start to the day.
Think skipping breakfast will help you lose weight? That kind of thinking can actually backfire. Those who skip the first meal of the day often end up eating more food than usual at lunch or tend to eat high-calorie snacks between meals. Eating breakfast regularly can also help adults and children focus better and enhance learning abilities. Breakfast = Brain Fuel
