Franklin Kroger Marketplace Tour

Disclosure: I was compensated to write this post by Kroger. As always, opinions expressed here are my own.

I love grocery stores. All of the beautiful packaging, new products to try, even the strategic placement of items to catch our eye and appeal to our senses. I just find them fascinating and could spend hours exploring. The new Kroger Marketplace in Franklin is definitely one of those stores filled to the brim with unique items that I could wander around in for hours. Myself and other Nashville food bloggers toured the new marketplace, sampled items made in-house, and got the full scoop on everything this store has to offer.

The new Kroger Marketplace in Franklin has 75,000 square feet of retail space and features a specialty cheese bar, Murray’s, where the staff is knowledgeable about all of the cheeses offered and allow you to sample any product before purchasing. It’s the perfect place to stop to create a standout cheese plate for a party, or to pick up a ready-to-go cheese plate on the way to Arrington Vineyards for a day of picnicking! They have all the necessary pairing items for cheese, like honey, dried fruits, nuts, and more. The important tip I learned about arranging a cheese plate is that you always start with a mild cheese and work your way towards the funkier cheeses—mild to wild.

In the produce department, or “The Garden” as Kroger refers to it, you’ll find a 20-foot long section of organic produce, a station for freshly squeezed orange juice, and items from local Tennessee farmers. Just around the corner is the Natural/Health Food section with over 2,000 products and machines to make your own peanut butter or almond butter. This is by far the largest Natural Foods section I’ve seen in a Kroger store, so if you follow an allergen-free diet or shop for specialty health foods, this is the place to go.

I’m going on the record to say that Kroger makes some pretty awesome sushi. When I crave sushi, but don’t feel like going to a restaurant, Kroger is where I go. We sampled several different rolls and they were all great. The Franklin Kroger Marketplace has an endless variety of sushi! I just want it all.  sushi

And if you haven’t picked anything up for Mother’s Day yet (yes, it’s THIS Sunday), you can swing by and have a unique flower arrangement made just for Mom! Have you ever seen anything like these? So cool!
