When in Vegas…

Is there any better reason to go to Vegas for the first time than for a Bachelorette party?

I don’t think so.

Vegas is an amazing food city, full of celebrity chef-owned restaurants and exceptional fine dining experiences. They do it big in Vegas and the food is no exception!

There’s so much to see and do in Las Vegas that I’m just highlighting the restaurants and a couple other must-see places for this travel post. What are your favorite restaurants in Vegas?

Where We Ate:

{Shake Shack} This east coast burger joint has moved west! And what better place for it to open its doors than next to the New York-New York hotel? Keep it simple at the Shake Shack and try the ShackBurger.

{Pizza Rock} There is some seriously good pizza to be had in downtown Vegas (aka Fremont Street). The whole gang agreed that the Old Chicago was the best, but I don’t think you could order a bad pizza at Pizza Rock.

{Rose. Rabbit. Lie.} We had no idea what was waiting behind the door at Rose. Rabbit. Lie. It felt as though we fell down the rabbit hole and landed in Wonderland with the hidden doors and tea-party decor. All of the menu items are meant to be shared, so we ordered several and every last dish was delicious, but my favorites were the Caviar Flatbread and Duck Confit Pasta. For dessert, we ordered one Chocolate Terrarium for the table. Yeah, that’s right… Chocolate. Terrarium. What a wondrous and beautiful thing! Everyone was snapping photos of this one! Oh, and not to be left unmentioned is the live entertainment. Imagine a female on top of a piano, juggling and doing acrobatic moves simultaneously to jazz music. It was quite the show. Make sure you order an Espresso Martini with dessert–BEST EVER.

{Sushi Roku} All I can say is Truffle Butter Edamame. Edamame will never be the same again because of this place. This was great spot for a light lunch and it wasn’t crowded when we went on Saturday around noon. We sat by the window and had a great view of the Strip!

{Bouchon Bakery} I jumped with joy when I realized I’d get to try a pastry from Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bakery. Of course, the pain au chocolat was a must-have. Just as good as the pastries in France! 🙂

{Gordon Ramsay Steak} This will forever be one of the best meals and dining experiences of my life. The service is impeccable and it was fascinating to watch the staff seamlessly orchestrate service throughout the night. I ordered the beef short ribs and couldn’t believe how large the portion was, but ate every bit (besides what I shared with others) because it was heavenly. We all shared sides of the Truffle Mac & Cheese (give me all the truffles!!), the creamed spinach, and asparagus. Chef Ramsay is famous for his Beef Wellington, which the bachelorette and several others tried. No complaints there, either! For dessert, Gordon Ramsay’s infamous Sticky Toffee Pudding and espresso martinis all around!

Other must-see places:

{Fremont Street} Located in downtown Vegas and an easy bus ride away from the Strip, Fremont Street is also referred to as “Old Vegas”. When I heard there was an “Old Vegas”, I said YESSSSS! Who would want to miss that? It’s a completely different experience from the Strip, so just embrace it. The Golden Nugget is worth checking out and don’t forget to eat at Pizza Rock!

{The Chandelier} Do not miss experiencing this multilevel bar INSIDE a chandelier. Only in Vegas, I tell you. Only in Vegas….01528233bbcc2b3917bf19eb5c67c2ffad92e9a767 2015-01-29 18.05.07
