RawSpiceBar Giveaway + a Gluten Free Cookie recipe
These Gluten-Free Garam Masala Peanut Butter Cookies are made with RawSpiceBar spices!
Need a little more spice in your life? RawSpiceBar to the rescue! When I heard about RawSpiceBar and their monthly, small-batch spice blend delivery service, it was one of those moments where I facepalmed and yelled, “Why didn’t I think of that?!” Really, it’s a genius idea, and I’m just glad that SOMEONE thought of it because now we all can benefit.
Spices have a lot to offer, even beyond the flavor, they add to dishes. Adding spices to your food is just one way you can start living a healthier life and increase your daily antioxidant intake. Most people don’t realize the antioxidant power within spices such as turmeric, cinnamon, cloves, and ginger, but they can help protect cells from damaging free radicals and oxidation in the body, which causes age-related skin wrinkles and chronic illness.
Turmeric has been heavily researched for its ability to prevent diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, heart disease, and arthritis. Want to start using more turmeric? Try this recipe. Ginger, one of my favorite spices, is helpful in relieving gastrointestinal issues and also protecting cells from oxidative damage. You can incorporate more ginger in your life with this smoothie or these overnight oats. Ready to switch out that salt shaker for spices and do your body, and taste buds, some good?
My first RawSpiceBar bundle arrived in February and came with three Punjabi-inspired spice blends, all uniquely created by Chef Vishwa Mohan, an Indian born, seasoned chef who incorporates Indian spices into North American dishes. Inspired by Chef Mohan’s ways, I wanted to take a very familiar recipe and infuse one of these special spice blends.
This simple gluten-free peanut butter cookie got an Indian spice makeover and they taste realllll good. A soft and chewy cookie with a hint of garam masala spice…oh yes, life is nice with a touch of spice! Of course, I realize that you may not have access to this specific garam masala blend from RawSpiceBar, but garam masala is readily available in supermarkets and will work just dandy in this recipe.

I love cumin! Gets my lips smacking!
I’m on a fenugreek kick lately. Love the subtle maple-y undertones! Thanks for introducing this fun product, as well as the awesome cookie idea. Garam masala is underrated … as is Chinese five spice!
Fenugreek is Greek to me! I couldn’t resist 🙂 but really, I haven’t used it much so I’ll have to do better.
Cloves. I love the aroma of cloves: spice cake, muffins, etc.
Thanks for sharing, Denise!
Cinnamon is my favorite, just the smell makes me want to start cooking!
Thanks, Heidi! Cinnamon is so warm and comforting…love it!
I love cooking with cumin! Although I once spilled some in a suitcase… it smelled like body odor for weeks in my closet!
Yes, another great spice! Not so great on clothing though 🙂 thanks for entering!
