The first recipe contest I entered was in college. The Miami University Dining Services was looking for a new smoothie recipe to sell at the Student Recreation Center so I gave it a shot. My recipe was simple: pear, ginger, orange juice. Refreshing and a bit spicy from the dose of fresh ginger.
I won the contest and was so proud to have my VERY OWN recipe featured on campus. That recipe contest was really the first step towards sharing my recipes through blogging, recipe contests, and other outlets, like Food & Nutrition Magazine. Food is my passion–I love talking about it, preparing it, sharing it, learning about it, etc. I’m grateful to have a career that I’m passionate about and it’s even better when I can share that excitement with others. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog and try my recipes–it’s always encouraging to read your positive comments 🙂
This Pear Ginger Revitalizer is the perfect example of a flavorful, healthy recipe that is easy to make. Just three ingredients with a load of health benefits. With nearly two servings of fruit per glass, it’s high in vitamin C, fiber, and phytonutrients such as quercetin for anti-inflammatory benefits, and is also great for digestion. We could all use an extra dose of vitamin C to keep our immune systems in tip-top shape this winter!
Have you ever entered a recipe contest and do you remember what the first recipe was that you submitted? I would love to hear your personal story!
