The Catbird Seat
When you’re sitting pretty in the Catbird Seat, your focus is on the food. Whether you’re sitting at the U-shaped bar watching the genius chefs prepare each dish, or sitting in one of two booths waiting for the next course, the food demands your attention. And it deserves it.
Chefs Josh Habiger and Eric Anderson, along with the other talented staff, have created such a wonderful experience at the Catbird Seat. The entire ten course meal, including a beverage pairing with each dish, was choreographed seamlessly. Each dish was so complex and beautifully presented that I could barely keep track of everything that was on the plate. But after each course, I was left thinking “how do they come up with this stuff?” and “that was amazing, can I please have more?”. The night was filled with ingredients I had never tried (i.e. caviar), foods I swear I’ve never liked but thoroughly enjoyed here (i.e. beets), and familiar foods presented in a not-so-familiar fashion (i.e. porcini mushroom and parmesan “oreo”). Basically, Catbird Seat will make you forget everything you know about food and then make you appreciate it all in an entirely new way.
And if you’re feeling unsure of whether or not it’s worth the price, it is. I’m looking forward to the day I get to go again!
Can’t wait to see what these two chefs create for Music City Eats in September!
