Hi-ya! I’m baaaccccck. I apologize for being MIA for a bit, but to make up for it I’m sharing a bunch of pretty sweet recipes (pun intended) from RD food blogger friends today.
It’s National Maple Syrup Day and to celebrate, I’ve collected 30 better-for-you recipes featuring the naturally sweet sap. This is a good point to go ahead and make the clear distinction between 100% real/pure maple syrup sourced from maple trees with nothing else added, and the artificial stuff you find on the grocery store shelves that are highly processed and contain corn syrup. BIG DIFFERENCE. Once you’ve had 100% pure maple syrup, you can’t possibly go back.
Not only is the taste a million times better, but pure maple syrup also offers some nutritional benefits! Of course, we still should enjoy it in the appropriate serving size (no daily maple syrup shots, y’all). Maple syrup is an excellent source of manganese, which promotes bone health and proper nerve function, and vitamin B2 (riboflavin), which is important for energy.
