These gorgeous little red gems are an excellent source of vitamin C and fiber, are rich in antioxidants and have been shown to play a role in heart health. Oats are also great for heart health because they have a specific type of fiber known as beta-glucan which helps lower cholesterol levels and reduce the risk of stroke. I love eating oatmeal for breakfast because I know it’ll keep me feeling full and satisfied until lunch!
Fellow dietitian Jenna Bell shared this awesome infographic from the Quaker Oats Center for Excellence, and it was the inspiration for creating this overnight oats recipe.
