Did you know enjoying two heaping spoonfuls of hummus a day will fulfill your bean recommendation for the week? By adding Sabra® Roasted Garlic Hummus to this dip, you’ll be even closer to getting your #TwoSpoons a day! The addition of hummus in this recipe reduces the amount of saturated fat that would typically be in a beer cheese dip since the hummus helps make it creamy and thick, rather than adding extra cheese, flour, or cream cheese. For more information on the nutritional benefits of enjoying hummus, hop over to Sabra’s website!Beer Hummus Cheese Dip | The Nutrition Adventure

This dip only takes 15 minutes to prepare and can easily be reheated in the microwave if you’re taking it to a party. I served mine with tortilla chips and red and green bell pepper slices. What veggies are you ready to dip into this Beer Hummus Cheese Dip?!

Ingredients

  • 12 fluid ounces amber ale I used Yazoo Gerst, a local amber ale
  • 1/2 cup Sabra® Roasted Garlic Hummus
  • 12 ounces shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon sriracha if desired

Instructions

  • 1. In a saucepan, heat beer over medium-low heat until it begins to simmer.
  • 2. Reduce heat to low and whisk in hummus. Whisk continuously until there are no more clumps.
  • 3. Gradually add in cheese, whisking continuously. Whisk until smooth. Add sriracha if using.
  • 4. Carefully transfer dip into a serving bowl and serve with raw veggies, tortilla chips, or bread. Top with a few drops of sriracha and gently mix in to add some color!

  1. This sounds a bit like my favorite Welch Rarebit that I enjoyed frequently growing up on Sunday nights for supper after a big Sunday dinner in the afternoon. I thought the addition of beer was the coolest thing ever. 🙂 I want to make this asap!
